Fur lined boots for horses

Whether you prefer a horse boot with synthetic fur or natural, soft sheepskin, both offer a clear advantage over boots with plastic or neoprene lining. Horse boots with fur lining are ideal for very sensitive horse legs and for horses with overlegs. Horse boots with fur lining distribute the pressure more evenly due to the soft padding and protect against chafing.

Fur boots for jumping and dressage

Horse boots with sheepskin are used for jumping as well as for dressage work and sometimes also for cross-country riding. Fur boots for jumping are usually hard shell boots or leather boots with fur. Due to the firm outer shell in combination with the shock-absorbing fur, the horse's leg is effectively protected even from strong blows and impacts. Dressage boots with fur are often bought in sets of 4 so that everything matches. The outer layer is made of a sturdy polyester material, which is additionally reinforced in the kick protection area.

Horse boots with sheepskin or synthetic fur

Both materials have their advantages. Real sheepskin is a naturally occurring product and combines many positive characteristics. Real fur is breathable, temperature regulating, hard-wearing and very flexible. These properties are particularly advantageous in warm temperatures. Horse boots with sheepskin absorb the horse's sweat particularly well and protect the horse's ligaments and tendons from overheating. In winter, it also has a warming effect. However, they are more demanding to care for than horse boots with faux fur, i.e. synthetic sheepskin. Horse boots for horses and ponies with synthetic sheepskin are easier to care for. They do not need to be cleaned with special detergent. They are also animal-friendly and just as soft and powerful as, for example, the eQuick sheepskin boots with real sheepskin.

In the end, you have to decide for yourself whether you are in favour of using genuine sheepskin or opt for Faux Fur instead. Eskadron fur boots and Veredus fur boots, for example, are available in both versions. Other manufacturers such as Kentucky Horsewear or Back on Track rely completely on faux fur. The variety of colours on offer is a definite advantage of this artificial alternative. Be it black fur horse boots, blue, grey or brown horse boots with fur, nowadays you can get just about anything.

To complete the cosy leg protection, you can also find matching fetlock boots with fur and smart hoof Boots with fur.
